Woburn Little League participates in the USA Softball Middle Essex Summer League along with other towns. As part of the Summer Softball, Woburn Little League encourages all players & teams to participate in raising fund for the Jimmy Fund!
Since 2021, Woburn Little League has raised over $108,000 for the Jimmy Fund
COST
Registration for the Middle Essex Summer Softball League is $XXX per player. Woburn Little League will donate $XX of the registration cost in the player's name to the Jimmy Fund.
TEAM ASSIGNMENT
Teams are separated into 3 Divisions
- 10U: Grades 3 - 4
- 12U: Grades 5 - 6
- 14U: Grades 7 - 8
Registration will be on a 1st come 1st serve basis based upon payment, with registrants capped at 30 individuals. Payment is due at the time of registration. All registrants after 30 will be waitlisted until we are able to successfully add a 3rd team. Individual team requests will not be accepted.
SEASON OVERVIEW
The season will run from End-June through the beginning of August. Teams will play 8-10 games over the course of four weeks.
- Teams bat in a continuous order, batting until three outs.
- Players will pitch to other teams with pitching limitations (according to Middle Essex rules by age)
GAMES/PRACTICES
Each game should last 90-120 minutes. Teams will play at least 2-3 games a week with league assigned patched umpires. Coaches may add additional practices at their discretion. Games and practices are held primarily at Gonsalves Park.
Batters hit player-pitch (with swinging strikeouts) with virtually all standard softball rules adhered to with some limitations.
After the game, players line up at home plate and shake hands with their opponents. Sportsmanship is extremely important and is a continued focus at this level.

Each Player should provide their own
- Glove
- Batting Helmet
- Bat
- Baseball Cleats: Metal cleats are NOT ALLOWED IN THIS DIVISION

Since 2021, Woburn Little League has raised over $108,000 for the Jimmy Fund. The Jimmy Fund provides many great tools to assist teams & players in raising money.
*Each team is required to raise $500 to qualify for the end-of-year playoffs and are encourage to raise money for this great cause.
